Послесловие. Вклад Гэри Беккера в экономическую теорию

в 1992 г. Нобелевской премии по экономике был удостоен профессор экономики и социологии Чикагского университета Гэри С. Беккер за распространение сферы микроэкономического анализа на целый ряд аспектов человеческого поведения и взаимодействия, включая нерыночное поведение".

Из экономистов мало кто сомневался, что одна из очередных Нобелевских премий будет присуждена именно ему. Гэри Беккер, наверное, самый цитируемый из ныне здравствующих экономистов. И один из самых виртуозных. Он автор нескольких фундаментальных исследований и многих десятков статей. Три главные его книги - "Экономика дискриминации", "Человеческий капитал" и "Трактат о семье" - многократно переиздавались. Трудно назвать другого экономиста его поколения, на долю которого выпало бы подобное признание.

В профессиональном сообществе он давно уже пользуется огромным авторитетом. Предлагаемые им модели неизменно завоевывали репутацию классических и становились базовыми для последующих разработок. Он стоял у истоков целого семейства новых разделов экономической теории - экономики дискриминации, теории человеческого капитала, экономики преступности, экономики домашнего хо-
